The small print

Who runs this site, what the pictures and posters are, and how to get yourself out of one. Short version, because nobody came here to read.

01 // Who this is

Who runs it

This site is published by Monark Worldwide VOF, registered in the Netherlands at Galgenstraat 11, 1013 LT Amsterdam, The Netherlands, KvK number 42062645, VAT number NL869536023B01. Trading as MONARK.

Everything reaches us the same way: monarkamsterdam@gmail.com. There is no phone line and no office you can walk into. We answer in a day or two.

02 // Photos

In a photo you would rather not be in?

Then it comes down. No argument, no form, no explaining yourself. Write to monarkamsterdam@gmail.com and tell us three things:

  • Which page it is on, or which night it was.
  • Roughly where in the frame you are, so we pick the right person.
  • An address we can answer on.

We take it off the site, and out of the Drive album if it is in one. Every event page carries the same link, pre-filled with that night, so you do not have to describe which one.

Under the GDPR you can also ask us what we hold, ask for a correction, or object to a photo being published at all, and under Dutch portretrecht you can object to a picture of yourself regardless. You do not need to cite any of that. Asking is enough. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

03 // The work

What is ours

The photography, the video, the posters, the MONARK name and the mark belong to us or to the photographers who shot the nights, and they are used here with their permission. If you shot a night for us and want your name on it, ask and it goes on.

You were at the night, so take the shot you are in and post it. That is what the albums are for. What we ask is that nobody lifts this material for commercial use, resells it, or runs it as their own event branding without asking first. Ask and the answer is usually yes.

04 // Everyone else

Names that are not ours

Venue names, artist names and every other brand on this site — Ma’dam, A’DAM Tower, Chin Chin, Oliva, Blu Beach and the rest — belong to the people who own them. They appear here because they are part of the story of a night that happened. That is editorial, not an endorsement, and not a claim to their marks. If you own one and want it handled differently, write and say so.

05 // Tickets

Nothing is sold here

No ticket is sold on this site. We do not take payments, we hold no orders and we run no checkout. Tickets are handled by the venue or by an external ticketing platform, and the moment you go there you are buying from them under their terms, not ours. Refunds, name changes, door policy and everything else on that side is between you and them.

Same for the links out. Instagram, TikTok, the WhatsApp group, the Spotify playlist and the Google Drive albums are not ours to run. We do not control what is on them or how they treat your data, and their own terms take over the second you leave this site.

06 // The nights

Line-ups move

An announcement on this site is an announcement, not a promise. Line-ups change, sets get swapped, a date shifts, a venue falls through. We post what we know when we know it. Nothing on these pages is a contract, and turning up expecting a specific artist is between you and the ticket you bought.

07 // Liability

What we stand behind

We keep this site accurate and online as best we can, and we do not guarantee either. It is published as it is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using it, from a site we linked to, or from information here turning out to be out of date — except where Dutch law says we are, which includes damage caused by intent or gross negligence on our part. Nothing here limits that.

Dutch law applies to this site and to these terms, and disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam.
